Hasidic and Iraqi Jewish culture, stories, halla baking – Mea Shearim
challa

Our tour takes us to the homes of two residents of the ultra-orthoodox enclave of Mea Shearim

Our hostesses will greet us and introduce us to their neighborhood and their homes, and we shall learn the intricacies of baking halla (Jewish bread traditionally eaten on the Sabbath) together with its history and significance.

As we sit enjoying the fragrance of baking bread, we will hear about the hasidic way of life both in present day Israel and in pre-war Europe.

The 3 hour tour includes a short walking tour of the area, refreshments and an individual halla.

For groups of 8 t0 20 people.

Our tour meets at Haim Valero Square,  Jaffa Road
